Established in 2023, Operation Hallmark, Inc. aims to beautify Tiffin, OH with holiday cheer. The organization started because there was an identified need in the community to make the downtown district more welcoming and a true destination during the holiday season. Through fundraising efforts and volunteerism, Operation Hallmark, Inc. has been able to transform downtown and the greater Tiffin area into a real life winter wonderland, and they're not done yet! Bigger and brighter plans are in the works and Operation Hallmark, Inc. is at the center of it all.
In July 2024, Operation Hallmark brought unexpected holiday cheer to downtown Tiffin with a Nutcracker Trail Scavenger Hunt. Over 50 uniquely decorated, 7½-foot-tall wooden nutcrackers were displayed inside and outside local businesses, creating a whimsical summer spectacle.
Participants followed clues to find each nutcracker, voted for their favorite design, and shared photos online, generating strong community engagement. Clue sheets were available at several downtown locations, and voting was hosted through an online form.
Though held only once, the event’s success inspired a county-wide nutcracker display in December 2024, making it one of Operation Hallmark’s most memorable community projects.
In December 2024, Operation Hallmark helped launch The Sutton Bank Rink at Oakley Park, a weather-independent iceless skating rink that brought winter fun to the Tiffin community. The rink opened with a ribbon-cutting on December 8 and offered affordable weekend skating with rental options available.
Led by Tiffin Parks Director Bryce Kuhn and Operation Hallmark President Christy Wiser, the project was made possible through a public-private partnership and major support from the Sutton Bank Charitable Fund and White Family Charitable Fund, along with several local sponsors.
This innovative one-time project became an instant seasonal favorite and a model of creative community collaboration.
